New - service 80 being introduced to the First Bus network linking Killamarsh in North East Derbyshire with Chesterfield
- First Bus announced it has been successful in being awarded a contract by Derbyshire County Council to run a new bus service linking Killamarsh with Chesterfield.
- The First Bus network in South Yorkshire now provides a bus link between the areas of Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham, North east Derbyshire and Chesterfield.
- The new service 80 starts on Sunday 12th May 2024.
First Bus in South Yorkshire has been successful in being awarded a new service by Derbyshire County Council that will expand it's bus network linking Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham, North east Derbyshire and Chesterfield.
The new service 80 will run hourly throughout the majority of the day, 7 days a week.
Ian Smith, Commercial Director at First Bus in South Yorkshire said "We are pleased to be working with Derbyshire County Council and to be running the new service 80 from the 12th May, between Chesterfield and Killamarsh in North East Derbyshire. We are constantly looking at opportunities to expand our network of services to provide new links and places of interest where people can travel to by bus. This new additional service means people now have a valuable link between South Yorkshire and North East Derbyshire.
The service will run from Chesterfield via Chesterfield Royal Hospital, Calow, Brimington, Staveley, Mastin Moor, Renishaw, Spinkhill, High Moor and Norwood to Killamarsh. People wanting to travel into Sheffield can then transfer onto service 120K into Sheffield.
