First Bus supports Sheffield Children’s Hospital Snowflake Appeal with a dedicated bus
- First Bus Sheffield are supporting the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charities annual snowflake appeal with a special livery marking 20 years of the snowflake appeal which was launched on Monday 2nd December.
- The specially designed livery will be out in service across December.
- First Bus Sheffield have been supporting the charity for several years, and in September they launched a new refreshed partnership.
On Monday 2nd December, First Bus Sheffield launched their specially designed snowflake livery to support the Sheffield Children’s Hospital's 20th anniversary of the snowflake appeal.
The hospital began the snowflake appeal back in 2004 and has raised almost £3m so far. Businesses across Sheffield each year purchase a snowflake to go on the Children’s Hospital building each year for the festive period.
This year, First Bus launched their special dedicated livery at the Children’s Hospital annual snowflake light switch-on, with Father Christmas, his special elf, whilst enjoying a warm drink and mince pie courtesy of First Bus.
The bus operator recently relaunched their partnership with the hospital back In September, and with it being the 20th anniversary of the snowflake appeal, it was decided that First Bus would apply a lit-up snowflake less conventionally by placing one on the bus for all to see.
The snowflake bus will be in service across December and will be passing the hospital along the route, with graphics of the beloved mascot, Theo the Bear, in festive attire.
Zoe Hands, Managing Director for First Bus Manchester, Midlands, and South Yorkshire said:
“We are proud to be supporting Sheffield Children’s Hospital 20th year of the snowflake appeal, by dedicating this specially designed livery for them, which will pass by the hospital on route throughout December. We have plenty more plans in the works for 2025, and we’re excited to see this partnership blossom.”
Holly Newton-Steele, Corporate Partnership Office at Sheffield Childrens Hospital Charity, said:
'We are absolutely delighted to be working with First Bus this festive season! We're overwhelmed to see the special bus they have commissioned, and we're so excited to see our very own Theo travelling across South Yorkshire spreading cheer.
