First Bus announces new X6 service creating a direct link to Rotherham Welcome Break services

First Bus South Yorkshire is proud to announce the exciting new X6 service which will serve the brand-new Rotherham Welcome Break services from Sheffield and Rotherham.

The new X6 service operates Monday to Sunday and is ready to get passengers to wherever they need to be.

There is no need for passengers to choose a ticket to buy upfront, they can simply tap on with the driver and tap off on the dedicated reader as they disembark. Plus, First Bus will automatically work out the best fare on their buses. Available on all First Buses in South Yorkshire.

Ste Brito-Coll, Commercial Manager at First Bus in South Yorkshire, said: “We are delighted to be working with Welcome Break to create the new X6 service for their staff. The opening of the new services has created a significant number of new job opportunities for the area, and we are proud we can support further by getting people to work. The service will run direct between Sheffield and Rotherham and is available for use by everyone.”

“The X6 service will operate from Sheffield Moorfoot, Rotherham Welcome Break and Rotherham Interchange, seven days a week, providing a reliable and direct link for people travelling across Sheffield and Rotherham.”

Fares are based on distance and start at £2.50 

• Sheffield City Centre to Rotherham Welcome Break - £2.80
• Rotherham Welcome Break to Rotherham Interchange - £2.50
• Sheffield City Centre to Rotherham Interchange - £3
