Flying Scotsman

First Bus in Doncaster will run a dedicated Park n Ride service to the the Flying Scotsman event on 11 and 12 November

  • Dedicated Park n Ride service every 15 minutes from White Rose Way
  • Dedicated Park n Ride service every 20 minutes from Frenchgate Interchange
  • Adult return fare £3 and £2 for children. Concessionary travel passes will not be accepted on this service. 

On 11 and 12 November the Flying Scotsman will be returning to its birthplace of Doncaster for a special visit to mark its 100th birthday.

The Flying Scotsman will be based at the Freightliner Rail Port, Decoy Bank South, and we will be providing a special bus service to get you there, as there will be no parking on the site.

First Bus will be running a service from the Park and Ride at White Rose Way every 15 minutes, and an additional service from Frenchgate interchange every 20 minutes – taking visitors straight to the Rail port.

Fares will be £3 return for adults, and £2 for children. Concessions will not be accepted on this service.

Peter Mair, Operations Manager at First Bus in Doncaster said: “As there is no parking at the site, we wanted to ensure visitors had the facility to travel to and from the Rail port, to join in the celebration and enjoy the occasion without worrying about how they could get to the event. We are expecting the Park & Ride service to be busy, so please allow a little extra time when planning your journey.”
